Create the New Taste of Summer with Avenue Magazine and Fiasco Gelato

June 03, 2013 – Avenue magazine and Fiasco Gelato are offering Calgarians a chance to create an exciting new gelato flavour that will become the taste of summer in our city.

The “Give us a Taste” contest invites Calgarians to send their most inspired gelato flavour ideas to Avenue by visiting AvenueCalgary.com/fiascogelato. After judging by our blue-ribbon panel of experts, the winning entrant will be invited to help create the new flavour at the Fiasco Gelato headquarters. This amazing opportunity will tie in with the launch of Fiasco Gelato’s Gelato Academy, which will allow Calgarians to learn how to create fresh gelato. And there’s more: the winner will also receive free gelato from Fiasco for a year. There will also be five runner-up prizes of fabulous dining gift cards.

The contest is accepting entries throughout June at AvenueCalgary.com/fiascogelato. After submissions close at midnight June 30, the field will be narrowed to six final flavours. Those flavours will be developed by Fiasco as a limited-time offering, to be sampled on July 15 by our panel of expert judges, who have the enviable task of tasting the six finalists and selecting the most delicious.

The winning tasty creation will become an official Fiasco Gelato flavour in August, just in time for Avenue’s Best Neighbourhoods Block Party, where the Fiasco Gelato food truck will be on hand to showcase the Give us a Taste contest-winning flavour. The party is tentatively scheduled for Aug. 17.
