Avenue Magazine Announces This Year’s Top 10 Restaurants

February 27, 2013 – Avenue magazine’s 10th annual Best Restaurants issue will be released this Friday, March 1. The year’s Top 10 restaurants will be revealed tomorrow evening at a VIP reception at Bradlee Distributors, 1245 73rd Ave. S.E. — along with this year’s Avenue Dinner Series lineup.
“This year, we are not only celebrating the Top 10 restaurants and the category winners, but also the 10th Anniversary of Avenue’s food issue” says Jennifer Hamilton, executive editor of Avenue. “Our intention is that Avenue readers will use this guide throughout the year to help them make the best possible dining decisions. Our eight expert judges dine out frequently throughout the year ensuring both diversity and scope, and take very seriously the job of determining their top picks in 19 different categories as well as the Best Overall list of 10 restaurants. Given how dynamic the restaurant scene is in Calgary right now, with so many new and established high-quality restaurants, it can be difficult to choose the best but I think our judges did a fabulous job creating a list that offers something for everyone.”
The list of Top 10 restaurants will remain embargoed until the grand reveal at Bradlee Distributors tomorrow evening from 6 to 9 p.m. Throughout the evening, guests will have the opportunity to sample dishes prepared on-site by the winning chefs themselves. Guests will also have the opportunity to purchase tickets to this year’s Dinner Series – six multi-course dinners throughout the year at Avenue’s top restaurants, at a special Avenue price, allowing diners the opportunity to experience the best Calgary has to offer first-hand.
