Need-To-Know Guide: Calgary’s Best Restaurants 2011

MEDIA RELEASE

March 01, 2011 – Avenue’s eighth annual Best Restaurants awards celebrate nearly one hundred of the tastiest places in the Calgary area. Restaurant-savvy and food-loving readers completed an online survey to nominate their favourite eateries. The votes came in and Avenue’s editorial team and food writers have gone through readers’ picks and determined the winning list for 2011. Categories include Best Restaurant, Best Brunch, Best Patio, Best Café, and many more. Detailed results and reviews are published in the March 2011 issue of Avenue and online.

In 2010, Avenue handed out 86 awards in 31 categories and awarded Calgary’s Best Restaurant to Rouge in Inglewood. Make sure to look for the 2011 findings to see which restaurants have maintained their standing and which new, improved, or time-honoured restaurants are worth checking out.

“The annual Best Restaurants and Food issue continues to be our most popular of the year,” says editor Käthe Lemon. “Between our Best Restaurants and our 25 Best Things to Eat stories, readers will know where to eat all year long.”

Also, Avenue’s 2011 Dinner Series kicks off this month as well. This series of ten dinners are exclusively designed, multi-course culinary experiences at one of the award-winning restaurants as listing in the March Issue. Each course will be paired with wines and consist of overviews from both chef and master wine experts. Join us for our first event of the series at LeVilla on March 28th.
