Tsuu T’ina Nation

The Tsuu T’ina Nation is a Canadian First Nation located immediately southwest of Calgary, with a population of about 2,000.

The Challenge

RedPoint was asked to create a publication that would tell relevant stories, open a dialogue with Tsuu T’ina Nation readers and foster community pride. The Tsuu T’ina administration needed a way to share information about community events, values and history in an engaging way. They wanted a valuable information source that was beautiful and memorable enough to foster a sense of pride and connection.

The Solution

RedPoint’s designers, editors and production team worked hand-in-hand with Tsuu T’ina representatives to create a publication that would accomplish the administration’s goals. Gumisastay tells the story of the Tsuu T’ina people with bold, sophisticated design and thoughtful editorial content.

The Results

When the first issue was delivered in April 2009, the entire community took notice. There were numerous requests for copies and subscriptions, and many readers wanted to be involved with the next edition, which was published in 2011. RedPoint was told that the Tsuu T’ina residents involved with the magazine’s production found the experience positive and rewarding.
