Calgary Reads

Calgary Reads is a non-profit organization that collaborates with schools, families, professionals and community partners to support, facilitate and advocate for early literacy. Its programs and initiatives focus on children from birth to eight years and their parents, teachers, mentors, caregivers and communities.

The Challenge

As an organization that lives, breathes and actively promotes the love of reading, Calgary Reads needed a website that reflected its sense of activity and engagement. Its previous site was outdated and, because it lacked a unified content management system, was difficult to maintain and update. It was also not mobile-responsive.

The Solution

RedPoint created a deep, content-rich responsive website with multiple access points for key content areas. The site now incorporates an easy-to-use CMS back end, making new content and updates easy to post. From a user-experience perspective, the site is visually engaging and logically structured, reflecting the calibre and breadth of the Calgary Reads organization and its initiatives. The site also includes a range of interactive areas, downloadable tools and graphics, and a comprehensive archive of past reports and research. Compelling statistics and quotes about literacy add liveliness to each page.
