Avenue’s Top 40 Under 40 Nominations Now Open

February 15, 2011 – Avenue’s 13th annual Top 40 Under 40 is officially underway. Top 40 Under 40 celebrates the city’s best and brightest leaders, recognizing those who inspire Calgarians with their passion and achievements. In the past, Top 40 honourees have ranged from entrepreneurs to athletes, to politicians, teachers and artists – all whose work has improved the city. Full results will be published in the November 2011 issue of Avenue and the Top 40 will be celebrated at an annual awards event to be held in late October 2011.
The selection process begins with online nominations, open from February 1, 2011 until April 30, 2011. Avenue editors then create a short list from hundreds of submissions for the judging panel. The panel – consisting of community leaders, Top 40 alumni and the Avenue publisher and editor – then choose the Top 40.
“Avenue’s Top 40 Under 40 celebrates the work of Calgary’s high achievers – and in a city full of bright young leaders, it’s always a challenge to narrow the field down to just 40,” says Avenue editor Käthe Lemon.
